When I was in Culinary School I asked if I could do my paper on Nigella Lawson and was told that she was not a "real chef". I said she cooks and bakes and writes recipes. At the time, most people in the class did not know who she was, so the Chef Instructor described her as the sensual voluptous lady from England. I think that description fit except I do think that she should be considered a chef. She knows her ingredients, she puts them together wonderfully and can whip up a meal in mear minutes.
